Hi welcome to Buttons.
Green
Green2
Green so good they made Green2
Despite sequels being often frowned upon by the general public, Green2 added a lot of additional content and lore to Green, it being a standalone made the lore comprehensible for general audiences unfamiliar with Green, introducing the prior installment to a wholly new audience.
Though, those with critiques were not afraid to speak against the 'oversaturation' Green2 suffered of. "They were innovative, but the hue of Green2 was not always as easy on the eyes as the original Green was," one such critisim reads.
Despite its flaws, Green2 continued making banger bucks at the box office.
They decided to release spinoff series Cyan while they were at it. BANGER FRANCHISE!
Cyan was received pretty well so some kind of "Triology" formed, fans found it refreshing to see a wholly new spin on the series as opposed to a simple "Green3" release.
Since Cyan was doing so well, why not release the 4th installment? It's a prequel to the original Green as well as Green2.
Yellow brought forth interesting tidbits and backstories for several plot points introduced in Green2, though fans found it to be much of a letdown, with the plot of Yellow heavily dependent on werther or not one is aware with the plot holes of Green2.
"It's pretty good, I'd say that the presentation of Yellow suits the aesthetic of Green2 and Cyan, but as a casual fan I found it a bit hard to follow." a fan stated in an online forum.
"As a hardcore Green triology fan I found the substance in Yellow rather lacking, it felt more like a compilation of trivia given to Green2 fans who noticed the plot holes within the story, rather than a wholly fleshed out prequel to be enjoyed by anyone," another fan stated.
Though, not all fans shared negative opinions towards Yellow, "I think Yellow is a good fit to end the series, it was spesifically catering to fans who wanted answers and a satisfying conclusion to end the series with. It's not very substancial, but that wasn't the point to begin with."
Alas, the 5th installment "Magenta" sucked ass so this ended up the last one in the series. Damn.
Magenta attempted a reboot 6 years later but even the dedicated fanbase didn't like that one. The marketing team was really hyping it up, they even made a funko pop and stuff.
Instead of the planned Magenta reboot, the team decided to re-release Cyan for its 10th anniversary and it was received pretty well, so they went ahead and remastered Green and Green2 and now they're up on most streaming services. Though, Magenta and Yellow went largely forgotten.
And so Green came to an end. No concluding statement. No point. Perfect closure. This is the only way it should have ended.
