Finished the ULTRAKILL animation. I can free myself from the shackles of animation.
I also began writing the zine with haikus about insects and other critters, I've got a few pages done so far and I think they're kinda cute. :^)
Saw someone post a haiku so I'm giving it a go too.
Tiny wasp so cute
Argh! It follows my sweet treat
I fall from the stairs
I should make a zine with various haikus regarding insects and other critters. Start publishing poetry and stuff.
Also, I've been reading "Biology of Human Survival" by Claude A. Piantadosi and it's pretty good so far. GOD i love biology of human survival. sometimes i pretend it's like house of leaves, but really, it is not house of leaves or even similar. It is a nonfiction biology book.
On my home page I had the word "house" highlighted in blue in reference to the book "House of Leaves", though for some reason the word got highlighted as green despite the hex code being a wholly different color. This must be the work of the house, I suppose.
On stories I read, I came across "Mall School" by Porpentine Charity Heartscape after someone posted about it on Bluesky, and all I can say is that it reminds me of Cruelty Squad but mid 2000's teenage girl in school. The writing is so visceral and it's like I can feel the scenes being described.
I don't remember where it was posted (Tumblr?), but I think a lot about someone referring to Cruelty Squad as a good cyberpunk game, how the game gets across that living in it's sewage-infused garbage world sucks. Someone also mentioned desensitation playing a role, how assasinations and organ trade are normalized in the game's lore, running parallel to you as the player getting used to the harsh textures of the game as you continue to play. I love Cruelty Squad though I haven't played it in a while meaning I'm no longer desensitized to the visuals and it'll hurt my eyes once I start playing again.
---Review I wanted to Post of the Mall School internet archive page but couldn't for some reason---
★★★★★
it kinda reminds me of Creulty Squad
Not sure how to describe it but the writing is so visceral, like I can feel what's going on within the scenes.
I just read "Ted The Caver" on the original site and had a blast :^D, the site was pretty simple with some text and links to images to click on, and that reminded me of this personal project I have going on which I'll likely not end up publishing since it's boring and written for myself. The story is told through a digital diary kept in .txt files with commentary of the author added throughout, I even made it a site and such, I think it's kinda cute.
I did end up finishing a small personal zine, it's a short zine focused on a little mascot character I designed back in 2022? and it basically compiles all the art I have of him into a small comprehensible document (with very strange custom page measurements). I ended up printing the document and turning it into a physical zine which I gifted to a friend :^) I might dump the document somewhere on the site and turn the "Buttons" page I currently have into a special page dedicated to projects like these.
I've also been working hard on my part of Arensika's ULTRAKILL MAP (Multi Animator Project), I've colored in some of the linework and expect to get everything done by the deadline (Friday the 7th, or possibly Saturday the 8th) unless I get too tired out from engaging in sports and die. I just got better from being sick and missed out on an entire week.
I also touched up the home page a bit. Very minor wording.
I've touched up both logos, the regular logo was too blurry and the blog logo had weird inconsistent colors, they should look better now. Yip yay, !
My Tumblr app stopped working, not sure what went down but it meant I couldn't look at pictures of knights on there anymore. I was pretty devastated so I took the time to use the web version on my phone instead, I was met by a thread discussing (what counted as) zines and that reminded me I had a few projects going on.
By the way, this the first thing I posted when I got to Tumblr web.
Point-and-Click game with 2.5D graphics.
I want to try making a digital museum of some sorts, have had this idea for a while now after being inspired by similar things on Itch.io (though the online gallery ones didn't work for me). I don't have much gamedev experience, so an actual interactive game sounded like a lot of work. It'd be easier to just learn Godot, but since I know the basics of Blockbench and Visual Novel Maker I'll just make one of those uncanny pre-rendered escape room type flash games.
Zines
Been thinking of making a zine for ages and even attempted an ULTRAKILL zine with a group of people. It's more of a collaborative art book though the project is reasonably small (10 people, 12 pages), so I'm not sure if it'd really count as an anthology or art book.
I do want to try my hand at a fully solo zine for ULTRAKILL sometime.
I also impusively began a Garten of Banban zine but gave up pretty soon. Though, I need to retry sometime, considering the fact I fucking love banban. (I have not played any of the games nor seen any real gameplay past the first game)
JESSE. JESSE. WE NEED TO PRINT.
Yo mista white ive never seen breaking bad bitch. im copying this off an unfunny tumblr post. bitch.
On the 'About Me' page, I stated the following: "By the way, this is the only mobile-safe page of the site and I do not know why." Turns out, ALL pages of my site were mobile friendly (dip shit) some code used to resize the site properly got duplicated and that messed with the mobile site layout. I've fixed it and declared CaptileTactileSite mobile friendly.
I've also attatched the beaded bow charm to my digital camera, I don't expect to keep it there permanently but it does make for a cute accessory.
It's 2 AM but I'm going to make a beaded charm or a doing a different craft and play a YouTube video essay in the background. I was originally thinking of working on an animation but put it off, though I'll be going at it tomorrow since it's been a few days. I'll link the final project once it's done (hopefully)
I really got into making jewelery back in 2020-2021 despite not wearing any and kept it up for a few years until I lost interest in the hobby a while back, I was bored of it but kept the stuff around. A few days back I made a beaded bow charm, and thought it was so cute I wanted to make some again.
Tutorial: Beaded Bow Charm.
Materials: Some thread and beads of your own choice. I used metal wire and 3mm glass beads.
Step 1. Tie off the wire's end (1) so beads don't fall off that side, this will be the loose dangling "ribbon" of the bow, add beads until desired lenth, then add a bead (5) large enough for the thread to pass through multiple times.
Step 2. Continue adding beads after (5), you now have a long strand of beads with a large bead roughly in the center (5). Pass the other end of the strand through (5) so you have a loop of beads.
Step 3. Keep adding beads to the thread (4), then pass it (4) back through the large bead (5). You now have another loop!
Step 4. Finish off the bow by adding beads to the other dangling "ribbon" (4) and tying off the end to secure the beads. You can use the center bead (5) to attatch it to a bracelet/necklace or make it into a charm like I did.
Finished product: Cute!
You can turn it into a butterfly by not tying off the dangling ends (1 and 4) and passing the wire ends through the large center bead (5), you could turn the extra wire into antennes or just snip them off. Alternatively you can just follow steps as usual and use jump rings or jewelery glue to attatch the dangling bits (1 and 4) to the center bead (5).
